  The walls are extremely thin. We could understand words being spoken in the next room. The flush of a toilet, the closing of a door, a cough . . . all enough to wake you up.

  While the room seemed reasonably clean, we noted that, over several days, a blowfly remained untouched - evidence the floors weren't being vacuumed. Ordinarily, we'd clean that up ourselves. But we wanted to see how long it would remain. We left . . . but the blowfly remained!

  I checked out the "iconic" guitar-shaped pool, only to be met by a family of ducks living on it. The water was covered in a film, lifted tiles, filth on the bottom of the pool and duck droppings around the outside. We could, at times, smell the ducks from our front door. The pool fencing was covered in a lot of cobwebs.

  What a gem. Comfortable, clean and quiet this hotel is on the outer skirts of Tamworth but is very well maintained and the staff are great. Will definitely be back.

  A friend stayed here last year and spoke positively of it, so we booked in recently. Based upon her description and the fairly good reviews on this site, I'm guessing it's gone down hill only recently. I appreciate the owners/managers are dealing with a number of health issues, But the quality of the stay wasn't good.

  On the upside, the bed was comfortable and there was no smell to the room. I'm afraid it's the last time we'll be staying there.

  A bathroom wall had heavy mould on it, the extractor fan was half falling down and coated in many old cobwebs. The shower was little more than a trickle and it was nearly impossible to control the temperature.

  Bed was comfy. Room could be cleaner. Looked as if the cleaners had turned down bed but not cleaned anything else. Very obvious grease on tiles in bathroom shower area. Mold in upper sections of wall lightly visible.

  Upon arrival, check in was quite out of the ordinary with my wife being made to wait outside reception for around five minutes because the reception door was locked. Someone on the other side of the door waved in acknowledgement but still didn't open the door for some time. After numerous computer glitches, we were finally booked in.
